On this episode of Nerdy Latinas Podcast, hosts Sabritas and Short Latina explore the topic of finding joy and the power of laughter. To explore this topic, they are joined by comedian, make-up artist and multitalented TikTok influencer, @estifisaavy. She has over 300k followers and over 8 million likes on her videos where she portrays multiple personas and acts different skits. Estefania was born in Ecuador and migrated at four years old with her parents to the U.S. in 1990. She lived in NYC for a few years with her parents under an undocumented status and then moved to South Florida where she was raised. In 2009, they moved once again to Orlando, FL. where she met her now husband who she married in 2014. However, Estefania was a DACA beneficiary from 2013 until 2017 before she was able to obtain her residency. They currently live in Houston, TX. Estefania has suffered from depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem and even though it’s a struggle for her at times, she loves to bring joy to people. She states, "You can be going through sickness, pain, loss, but no one can take away your laughter, your joy. That’s something that comes from within." Follow and support her work here.
