Israelites were not being saved
God is saving True Israel v1-10
- God saves the elect v1,2
- Elijah & 7,000 did not worship Baal v2-4
- Paul & remnant chosen by grace v1,5-6
- Others were hardened v7-10
God is saving “trembling” Gentiles v11-24
- Unbelieving Israel has meant Gentile salvation v11
- Envious Israel may desire Gentile salvation v13-14
- Believing Israel could replace arrogant Gentile v16-24
- Israel salvation will mean life from the dead v12,15
God’s mystery/revelation summarised v25-32
- God has chosen Israel to be his people v28-29
- Part Israel hardened till all “trembling” Gentiles are saved v25

- Principle: All guilty so all can receive mercy v30-32
To God be the Glory v33-36
- God is all wise and all powerful
- He exercises his power and wisdom to show mercy
- Both Jew and Gentile are to exercise faith in him
- This faith is to be confident, trembling and full of praise
