In this Episode of Learner Journeys, Bastian speaks with Tatyana Fertelmeyster.
Tatyana is the founder and principle of Connecting Differences. She grew up in the Soviet Union and came to the United States as a refugee. Many years of working with refugees and training professionals in refugee services enriched her with stories of human struggle and resilience. Going back to school and becoming a mental health counselor taught her to step into somebody else’s inner world with empathy and compassion. Her personal experience of living in between cultures and languages lead her on a path to intercultural and diversity work.
She sees herself as a facilitator first and foremost. Tatyana facilitates trainings, meetings, and complex processes, and gives trainees the skills to continue that work themselves. Most importantly, she facilitates changes and deep shifts for individuals and teams she works with.
