Sunday Teaching Series: UNDERSTANDING THE WONDERS OF THANKSGIVING
Introduction:
- When we give God thanks for what He has done, we remind Him of what remains – Luk. 17:11-19/ Isa. 43:26.
- Thanksgiving secures the answer to our prayers – Psa. 92:1-2/10-14/ Exo. 15:11.
- Thanksgiving secures fulfilment of prophecies among others – Rom. 4:16-20/ 1 Thes. 5:18/ Heb.10:36.
UNDERSTANDING THE WONDERS OF THANKSGIVING 2
Every genuine thanksgiving usually graduates into praise, but we praise God essentially in songs and in dance among others – Psa. 921:1-2/ Psa. 149:1-3/ 2 Sam. 6:14.
But Why Do We Give Thanks?
- Thanksgiving is what we owe God, both as individuals and as a Church – Luk. 17:17-19/ 2 Thes. 2:13.
- We owe God thanks for every good thing He has done for us – Eph. 5:20/ Jam. 1:17.
- We owe God timely thanksgiving to have our blessings preserved – Jer. 13:15-17.
- Because God is the hand behind all good happenings in our lives – Jhn 15:5/ Psa. 118:23.
- God is the source of every increase we enjoy – 1 Cor. 4:7/ 2 Cor. 4:7.
- Thanksgiving provokes supernatural multiplication – Deut. 1:11/ Jer. 30:19/ Jhn 6:6-12.
- Thanksgiving provokes fulfilment of prophecies – 1 Tim. 1:18/ Heb. 10:36.
