Whatever line of work we are in; there is something we must keep at the top of our priority list if we are going to be successful. It is something that we need more than we often know, Something much more valuable than most of us realise. We are talking about Wisdom. In Proverbs 4:7–8, the bible says that; “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote you: she shall bring you to honour when you embrace her”.

Whatever line of work we are in; there is something we must keep at the top of our priority list if we are going to be successful. It is something that we need more than we often know, Something much more valuable than most of us realise. We are talking about Wisdom. In Proverbs 4:7 and 8, the bible says that; “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote you: she shall bring you to honour when you embrace her”.

But you might say, “I’m just too busy to read the bible” or too busy to learn new things. This is the main reason people give for failing to spend time in the Word of God. Our schedules are so packed; the demands on our lives are so heavy, that it just doesn’t seem we have time to give much attention to what God says in His Word.

But is the real truth, we don’t have time not to? When you have God’s wisdom in abundance, you have more of it inside you than anything else! You’re so full of His wisdom that when trouble comes, the Word is the first thing out of your mouth.

Busyness is practically a disease today. We all cram as much as we can into our seemingly limited time. Yet being busy isn’t the same as getting things done. Haven’t you had a day where you felt like you didn’t have a minute to spare, yet you still felt like you didn’t accomplish anything? Nearly everyone has.

So how can we lay-hold of the abundance we need? We can start to understand and put into practice what Joshua 1:8 says; “This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success”.

We need to “meditate on God’s words.” Or to fix our minds on the Word of God every day. Apply it to ourselves, personally, and allow the Holy Spirit to make it a reality.

If we carefully consider how the Word we’ve read applies to our life, then ask ourselves “What does this Word from God say to me? What does it mean in my life? How can it change my situation?” Then we should place ourselves in agreement with what God says about us in His Word.

Life should be full, but it shouldn’t be busy. If we’re too busy, it’s likely that we’re either spending too much time on things that don’t really matter to us, or we’re spending too much time on tasks that aren’t productive. Let’s prioritize our day and our activities, with God’s wisdom as our road to success. We’re going to find that we enjoy getting more done in less time.

Let’s make up our minds to walk in the truth that we are who God says we are. We can do what God says we can do. And we can have what He says we can have. Put ourselves in agreement with Him, and receive it.

I know we’re busy, there are tremendous demands made on us every day. But God promises that if we’ll keep His Word in front of us if we’ll put it first place in our lives, we’ll know how to prosper and succeed in all we do. Now, that sounds like a real timesaver to me!
