I am talking with Marcella Natale, Owner of Sweets by Cella, located in Boston, MA. Marcella is a current Business Major at UMass Boston and graduates in the Spring of 2022. Although Marcella is a "self-taught" baker, she has mastered the art and skill of baking and decorating decadent desserts.
Like many businesses, Sweets by Cella was born out of the Global Pandemic. What started as a therapeutic, fun hobby quickly became a viable business after receiving so many orders for her sweets. Her most significant order to date? Fifteen cake orders for Mother's Day.
In this episode, Marcella shares how she started Sweets by Cella, her favorite part of baking, and why relationships are the driving force in any business, big or small. Marcella also shares what it's like to juggle being a college student and a business owner and why time management is everything.
