In the first ever Game Reviewin’ I review one of the most divisive games of 2020. The last of us part 2 is a very difficult game to review. On one hand there are things to be considered when reviewing it. One thing to be considered is that the political discourse surrounding this game has been blown out of proportion almost nothing in this game is virtue signaling or anything. It was a ruse to make people hate the game which in turn made things toxic. This is dangerous and unacceptable in any fandom. The last of us 2 is a game about forgiveness and the people we care about despite what the story and or marketing insinuates. Ellie is amazing as always and the controversy around Abby despite what some would call manipulation of emotions I thoroughly enjoyed her character. The story isn’t perfect as there are things that don’t really add up and the usual pacing issues specifically on Abby’s story. Her side isn’t bad it just felt like DLC. However because of this the emotion is there more on Ellie’s side as you understand her struggle. Abby you can empathize with her, but I didn’t sympathize with her. That’s a key thing to note. The ending in my eyes was powerful and the icing on the cake. The gameplay, graphics, and voice acting are all amazing. The last of us 2 is exhausting from the stand point of the backlash or the reactionary clownery that’s been going on on social media. Play the game yourself and form your own opinion otherwise you’re just a sheep!! Rating:8/10
