The first day of February marks the beginning of Black History Month. A time of reflection, learning, and celebration of all that have come before, and the work they have done in propelling the current status of the African American community, and the greater black community at large. In this episode, Dre explores ideas of liberation through the arts and creativity. He pulls out his thesis from undergrad and shares excerpts of his research of black identity in fiction across mediums and how that has affected, and continues to affect, ideology surrounding black bodies, identities, and individuals in the world in which we live. It's a discussion on everything black: history, present, and future.
Happy Black History Month!
