There's an age old adage that says "It takes a village". Presumably, the original context is in relation to raising children/family building. However, that sentiment rings true and works in a number of other intersections of life as well. The reality is that support, and a sturdy support system, is a critical component of life. Following up from the previous episode On Being "Self-Made", Dre explores ideas regarding support and community. Dre touches on support from those we know, those we don't, and the dissonance that can often be experienced when our family and friends will support the endeavors of strangers and not those of us they personally know in real life.
