Because it hurts to hurt. It hurts to let go of someone. But it hurts more to hold onto feelings that no longer serve us. It’s not a good feeling that I’m just going through the motions each day and life is passing me by. No, not at all. When we move into forgiveness, it brings us back to the present moment. Allows us to focus on what’s happening right in front of us. And I read a quote or theory somewhere, that grief is just love, with no place left to go. And in that moment, I knew exactly what I needed.
