Today on the Unearthing Project, I sit down with Harold Johnson. Harold is a 4-time Emmy winning Sportscaster for WSOC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina. In his years of broadcasting, he interviewed Elvis Presley, Ronald Reagan, and Ric Flair. Also, he was the first to announce that Charlotte was getting an NBA team and covered the Masters Golf Tournament on ABC Radio. He spent 26 years in TV where he got the nickname “The Big Guy” and was known as “ESPN before there was ESPN.” Finally, in 2010, Harold ran for U.S. Congress in the 8th district of North Carolina.
