Nicole reflects on a slightly different Christmas song on Instagram - "O come all you unfaithful" as she considers the sparseness and poverty of our own hearts, not too different from the manger which Jesus was born in. She considers the mystery of the Incarnation, of God's great love for us that He would assume our imperfect human condition and how it is our very weakness that disposes us to His great love and mercy. Indeed, "O come barren and waiting, you are not alone." Let us pray for the grace to invite Him into our poverty and weakness this Advent and to desire nothing more than to sit at the manger, in adoration.
