Talya Jane Shelley, founder of Mind In The Mountains, joins us on this exciting new collaboration between Nourishthesoul and Lux Veritas where we embark on a series which explores the ideas of creativity and the Gospel. We embark on a 5 part series - 'God is Beauty' and explore the role of the artist and the divine in creating works of Beauty in our very own lives.
If we believe that everything has traces of Beauty itself, is there really a divide between the secular and the Divine? St John Paul II notes that “the stream of beauty runs through each of us” and we do not exist apart from the vine. We need not compose a song, paint a sunset or write a poem to be considered a creator. Saints offer models for ‘artists’ who recognise Jesus in brokenness, by looking at each person and situation with the eyes of Jesus. How can you also access your innate creative spirit and create things of beauty?
