Nicole catches up with Maureen about Lent as we start this liturgical season and how more than 'removing' things from our lives, Lent also creates space for us to live for intentionally for others and to place the needs of others at the centre. Rather than a solo trip into the desert, Lent can also be a call to communion, to reach out to those in our midst who need our presence. If we start to view penance not as something we dread but as something that we do out of love and for Love itself, we shift our perspective of what 'giving up' really means. We venture deep into our interior space to examine our desires in the desert and allow Him to reorient our hearts towards Him.
