St John Paul II highlights the difference between sensuality, a response to the bodily value of a person and sentimentality, feelings of affection for the person we love. He warns that often sensuality is concealed and disguised as sentimentality which results in disillusionment. He points to integration of body and person such that we treat the person we love with respect and honour.
