Edmund Walusimbi (https://www.edmundwalusimbi.com) a Ugandan by nationality and alumni of the Young African Leaders Initiative under the East African Regional Leadership Center. He is a national public speaking award winner ranked as the Best Young Motivational Orator for 2019 by The Association of Uganda Public Speakers. He is the founder of The Secret Initiative (http://thesecretinitiative.com/), a youth program that has reached over 10,000 students with a vision of inspiring them to unravel their unique strength through self-awareness, career discovery and opportunity mapping. He started this program in July 2017 at age of 19 after qualifying for government sponsorship on merit to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical engineering at Makerere University. In 2019 he was awarded a certificate of distinguished service by the US Ambassador to Uganda, Ambassador Deborah R. Malac for serving as a coach and Head of Public Relations and Communications in The Mentorship Class. Edmund served as their first president of the alumni association and currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer. He is an author of a book entitled “THE SECRET TO GETTING GOVERNMENT SPONSORSHIP ON MERIT” (https://www.studenthub.ug/blog/271/the-secret-to-getting-government-sponsorship-on-merit-in-uganda) which was endorsed by The Prime Minister of Buganda Kingdom Mr. Charles Peter Mayiga and also serves as a Campus Ambassador for StartHub Africa. Edmund also served as a Country Resource Person under the Economic Policy Research Institute in 2020 coordinating an international training program ITP322 in partnership with the Swedish International Development Agency. During the International Youth celebrations for 2020 Edmund was also among the youth featured by the The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network of Great Lakes Region.
