Description

Nine students all over the world share their story this month, as well as a tedx speaker, a higher education professional and even a personal travel coach. We cover topics such as the power of Linkedin and personal branding, lessons learned from moving overseas, the importance of community and relationships, shame, impostor syndrome and how to deal with culture shock. We also covered the benefits of Co-Ops vs internships and winning scholarships for college students, as well as Study Melbourne, which is an initiative that supports international students come to Melbourne for school and potentially work. A few of our guests have lived in multiple countries and they shared the lessons they learned as well as how it benefited their careers. "Don't apply. Get referred" is the name of the game this month. The majority of my guests talk about the importance of networking and relationships and how it helped them and their clients get job offers at companies like Microsoft, Linkedin and Google, although the way some of my guests got jobs with little to no interviews may surprise you!
