Description

This episode is dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement and to those whose lives have been lost to police brutality and systemic racism.

Some incredible guests are here to join us on the show today. First I will talk with George Barrett and Caroline Le. George is the associate director of The Jackson Center, an organization that "aims to engage the power of civil rights history and the struggles and strengths of generations of long-term residents in the historic Northside community." Caroline is the co-president of Alpha Epsilon Delta, UNC’s pre-health honor society. Alpha Epsilon Delta is working with Alpha Phi Omega, UNC’s co-ed service fraternity, to benefit the Jackson Center through their Race Against Racism. The race is a virtual walk and run that aims to achieve equality and dismantle the current system of oppression.

Then, I will meet with Emile Charles and Isabel Huesa, the organizers of protests for the Black Lives Matter movement in Chapel Hill. The event had over 1000 attendees and brought light to important issues of racial inequality in the Chapel Hill area.
