As part of the modernistic series, the Gibson explorer, has caught the eye of Eric Clapton, Rick Nielsen, James Hetfield, Lizzie Hale, Dave Grohl, and the Edge. Many have played it. Many have copied it. Many have a redefined it. But there is no denying the impact of a Gibson explorer. But why was it a failure? Why did they re-release it? Was it really ahead of its time?
