The western media always portrayed Fidel as a tyrant and dictator. However they never focus on the failures leadership of Batista administration. Batista let the Italian mafia runs Cuba He killed a lot of people who opposed him. He have stolen over 400 hundred millions dollars from the Cuban National Bank. There were two exodus out of Cuba. One during the 60’S other during 80’S The first exodus white middle class Cubans that was shipped to U.S Most of those family didn’t want to negotiate with Castro. Especially the Bacardi family who fled to Peurto Rico. The Second exodus was ex convicts that was sent to the US. It was Castro retaliations towards the US Government. That’s why most of those white middle class Cuban hate Castro . Whether u agreed or disagree with Castro. One can argued. Castro have done more for the Cuban people than Batista. If wasn’t for the US embargo against Cuba would have been much better country economically. Castro wanted to negotiate with the US Government. However the US Government wanted to have more control of Cuban economy and they support the Italian Mafia allegedly. Castro stood his ground and never back down from the US Government. That’s why they hated him. They were many assassinations attempts on Fidel Castro life. But US Government failed miserably. Castro was one the greatest leader of the 21’s century.
