Looking for an inspirational story? You've found the right podcast.

In November of 2010 Rya was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung cancer. At the time she was 2 and a half years old. Her mom noticed she had a really bad cough so she took her to a doctor where they originally said that I had Laryngitis.

After a bit Rya cough was not going away so her mom with mother's intuition thought she needed another opinion so she took Rya to a second doctor where they told her that she need to go straight to emerge because they thought she had pneumonia.

Then at emerge they discovered Rya had a mass in her lungs. She had to go to sick kids intensive care in Toronto, where she got the biopsy. Then back to London where she started Chemo which lasted for a year. Then about 5 months later Rya got her final surgery and was declared cancer free.

Coach Matt Catalano says: Rya James recently joined the 2008 girls squad this year, and instantly fit in. Her hard work and dedication allows her to continuously show improvement each week. Rya is a multi-sport athlete who has a positive attitude and great work ethic. I am excited to work with her more and see her grow during this upcoming season!!

Thank you Rya for sharing your story with us.
