Marin Bright, founder and CEO of Bright Business Media, which publishes the award-winning Smart Meetings magazine and the companion news and lifestyle website www.smartmeetings.com; she manages an online community of a combined 145,000 event professionals with 57,000 social media followers. The publication annually awards the prestigious Smart Stars and Platinum Choice Awards to hospitality companies that meet the publications high standards.
Ten years ago, Marin launched Smart Meeting Events (now Smart Meetings Experiences), which produces monthly regional and national networking forums and The Smart Woman Summit, a celebration of the women elevating the entire industry that is now entering its fourth year. I am so proud to say that I was nominated and won in the Rising Star Category in 2019! As a thought leader in the space, Marin, speaks on best practices and trends in the industry and contributed articles for LinkedIn.
She previously served and vice president and publisher of Meetings Media, West Coast Sales Manager for Meeting News and National Sales Manager for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. She is a graduate of the prestigious Mills College in Oakland, CA with a bachelor’s degree in communications and psychology.
Marin, was honored with the San Francisco Bay Area Meetings Industry Excellence Award in the Legend category from the Northern California Chapter of PCMA in 2011. She also received back-to-back honors as one of Folio’s Top Women in Media in 2014 and 2015 and was the 2015 recipient of WPA’s Leadership Award.
