We apologize for Erin's audio during this recording. Due to some computer adjustments we didn't realize her Zoom settings had been reset and the "good" mic was not picking up. It was early morning...surely you can forgive us. ;-)

How many of you have felt utterly dazed by the conflicting dietary recommendations you see and hear? Eating should be simple! Yet society has found a way to make us question literally everything we put in our shopping carts and on our plates. Whether it be confusion around macros, intolerances, expert advice or fear-mongering propaganda, there's a strong case for revisiting the basics of nutrition and eating. We at Middleish often have clients ask us (with a detectable level of embarrassment), "What's the right way to eat?"

We hope that this episode will leave you feeling a bit more settled in your own practices of how to eat. And if you have dietary challenges unique from the masses, please seek out the help of a Registered Dietitian or other qualified professional to help provide the guidance you need.

Erin Green is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, recovering professional triathlete and owner of Erin Green Racing and Nutrition in Boise, Idaho. After years of regimented training, she is rediscovering the joy of spontaneous movement, social runs and exploring unpaved bike routes. Check out her blog and videos at www.eringreenracing.com.

Michael Gray is a personal trainer, nutritional coach, father of two and a sucker for a bag of gummy bears. See what he's up to at www.michaelgrayfitness.com.

Let us know you like what you hear! Small donations from our listeners help to support Michael's gummy bear habit or go toward a new houseplant that will inevitably die under Erin's care. We appreciate all of our Middleish listeners! Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/middleish/support
