Jean Griesser (spiritual name Visakha Devi Dasi) is the first female temple president of Bhaktivedanta Manor, a beautiful period house in the Watford countryside given by George Harrison of the Beatles to the Hare Krishna people in the 70's.

Join us for this wonderful conversation where we hear from jean about growing up in America in the '60s, how she felt like an outsider growing up, about her passion for photography and early success in that area as well as traveling to India on an epic adventure to document the Hare Krishna movement as it developed through photography along with her then-boyfriend (now husband) John Griesser (spiritual name Yadubara Das) who was filming.

She was curious but skeptical and in particular, was not at all sure about some statements and behavior which seemed to be discriminatory towards women.
