Some critics like the post development scholars have suggested that development belongs to the dustbin of history. Together with Prof. Alberto gomes from La Trobe University Australia and Prof. Tulus Warsito from Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, we'll discuss the debates and have better understanding about development. It concerns several questions: (1) Is the project of development relevant, appropriate or viable in the contemporary world? (2) What are the various criticisms levelled at development? (3) Are they valid or applicable to nations in the Global South today? (4) How can the prevailing problems of social inequality and poverty in the Global South be resolved? (5) Are there alternative paradigms and programs that can solve these problems? (6)What are the development issues for the 21st Century.
