On today's episode, I sit down with a good friend of mine, Garrett Gamez. Garrett was a member of the Providence College Men's Ice Hockey team from 2015-2019. During his sophomore season, Garrett was faced with a life-altering decision after complications with his heart. You'll hear Garrett talk about that story and the road it has taken him on. Through his story, Garrett has shown that there is more to life than the sport that you play, and when you do have to hang it up, it's not over, it's just the next chapter. With everything going on in the world today as college athletes are told that their seasons are canceled and in some cases, their careers are ending in a blink of an eye, hearing from Garrett and someone that has gone through a similar situation can be eye-opening. No one ever wants to lose their shot, but there is always another door opening.
