This week we get back to our activity based therapy series by rambling with our client and friend Sandra Statt! In this episode we had the opportunity to sit down with Sandra, she is an ICU nurse who survived a traumatic spinal cord injury. Sandra talks about her experience from the moment her injury happened to now. She tells us about her transition from acute care to the rehab hospital with the unique perspective of being a healthcare professional.
She tells us the trials and tribulations she faced when going home to an inaccessible house and how she transitioned back to working only 6 months after her injury!
Sandra is an amazing woman who lives her life in service to others. Her SCI inspires the patient's she sees in ICU and gives them hope that they one day will be back to work as well.
