This week on the Dallas Famous podcast we have engineer and producer Jimi Bowman. Jimi started out as a drummer but had a moment in a bad studio session where he thought, “ I could do this better.” Since then, Jimi has made a career out of it. Jimi went on to open the succesful Klearlight Studios with longtime friend Jay Jerigan. Klearlight hosted many Erykah Badu sessions as well as St Vincent, Power Trip and Anderson Paak to name a few. Bowman joined forces with Josh Block and Robert Ellis to form a litereal all-star team at Niles City Sound in Fort Worth. We talk about the differerences between an engineer and producer and we get some good perspective from someone who has dialed in the sound on many great recordings.
