Description

This week on Dallas Famous, we’re thrilled to welcome April Samuels, a powerhouse drummer, breast cancer survivor, and all-around inspiration. Known as Crash Gordon in the band Metal Shop, April has played with various bands over the years, with Frognot being one of the most recognized. Her life took a dramatic turn when she was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, but she transformed that tragic news into a mission of inspiration. Determined to become a fundraising force, she founded the Breast Cancer Can Stick It foundation, raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research. One of their biggest events, the Breast Cancer Can Stick It Drumathon, is coming up on October 20th. April has also written a book about her journey as a survivor, and her tagline says it all: "Drummer, teacher, survivor, author."

In this episode, we dive into her remarkable career, her love for the Dallas metal scene, and how she’s using her personal experience to fuel a powerful movement. Don’t miss this inspiring conversation with April Samuels!
