The weeks leading up to this episode have been filled with growing distrust between the police and black community. It is the week of April 18th, 2021 as Saif lays out our episode and T emphasizes that he's had it with police shooting people unnecessarily (0:44). He also divulges that his attitude has him torn inwardly as people close to him are police officers (3:02). Saif offers his angle on the matter (6:04) and gets into the how the community of a police interaction often dictates how they handle the situation (8:34). It all comes back to control of power and relying on those in power to lead morally (12:07). This probably won't happen until the right mindset is in place to benefit everybody and we can talk about these issues without confrontation (14:37). We believe the solution is better education and access to resources, especially in communities that have historically been restricted (16:20).
