Kim Thompson received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Health and Physical Education from the University of West Georgia. Kim began working in the Department of Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education at West Georgia in the Fall of 2012 when she retired from working in the Douglas County School System (after 30 years).
She attended Florida State University where she was a member of the Lady Seminoles basketball team.
Kim has served as the Georgia AHPERD Executive Director since 2010 and is the past Chair of the Society of Association Management.
Kim is passionate about teaching and loves spending time advocating for improvements in the profession to better serve the students and teachers of Georgia.
Kim is a true leader in the profession and we were honored to have her join us!
