Description

Susan Jackson received her Bachelor’s and Ed.S. degrees in Physical Education from University of Montevallo and her Master’s degree in Physical Education from UAB. She has retired with 30+ years as an Elementary Physical Education teacher in two different schools. She has worked as an adjunct instructor for two universities. Currently, Susan is an archery instructor for Hoover Parks and Recreation. She serves as a representative for HEAL United. She works with Alabama Conference of Educators. Susan has served and continues to serve in numerous positions at the state, regional and national level.

Susan has received numerous awards and honors, such as:

• Alumnus of the Year for UM and UAB
• Elementary Teacher of the Year for ASAHPERD and Southern District
• TOY for both schools she taught (Childersburg Elem & Valley Elem)
• Teacher Hall of Fame at Childersburg Elementary
• Jump Rope for Heart Awards at the state, regional and national level

Susan was a cooperating teacher for many student interns and definitely has made her mark within the profession.
