Meet Carol Persson!!
Carol grew up in New Jersey, lived in Massachusetts for 29 years, retired to North Carolina for 8 years and moved to Florida this past June 2022.
Carol attended Slippery Rock University where she received a BS in Physical Education; then earned her Master’s at Montclair State University in New Jersey, then her doctorate in Physical Education from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Carol spent 26 years at Westfield State University serving as Vice President of Enrollment Management; Department Chair of Movement Science, Sport & Leisure Studies; Dean of Undergraduate Studies, and Professor of Movement Science.
Carol was President of AAHPERD in 1994-1995 and served on what appears to be every committee AAHPERD had!
Carol served Eastern District as President in 1989-1990 and, again, served in what had to be every possible Board and Committee position in the Eastern District!
She also served at the state level in Massachusetts AHPERD and New Jersey AHPERD.
We consider Carol a TRUE LEGEND!!!
