Novel writing is hard work. You can't jump into novel writing, thinking you can write a great book just like that. Be realistic. It's likely your first novel isn't even going to be good enough for publishing. (Mine certainly wasn't.) But you will get better as you give it enough time and effort. I know it's a cliché thing to say, but... Trust the process. And I mean that. Novel writing is a skill like any other and it requires time. And other things... but more of that in the episode. Listen and get to writing with a different mindset!
