When new technologies become widespread, they often raise ethical questions. For example:

1. Weapons — who should be allowed own them?
2. Printing press — what should be allowed to be published?
3. Drones — where should they be allowed to go?

In this lecture, we consider the wide range of downstream effects that could occur for society as a result of the broad adoption of novel technological use cases. Some example of short term use cases that raise particularly difficult questions include: 

• Algorithmic Bias
• Fake News
• Autonomous Vehicles
• Privacy v. Surveillance
• Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems
