If you carry a weight for a long time, you get comfortable with it; similarly we have been carrying our sorrows for so long, that even if we get a chance to let go, we do not, simply because we are comfortable with the misery. ModMonk Anshul narrates a story of a man who was desperate to let go of his miseries and prayed for the same devoutly. Yet when he does get a chance to exchange it with other miseries, he is unable to because he is so attached to his sorrows. This story showcases how attached we are to our known miseries that even if get a chance to exchange them with joy & bliss we wouldn’t be able to because we are happy with known misery than unknown happiness!
