"I am, indeed, a King, because I know how to rule thyself." -Pietro Aretino
King Jaquell Martin enlisted in the United States Army with a passion to serve his country and make a better life for himself and his family. Being a high achiever, he moved up the ranks to sergeant and held his position until an unforeseen and challenging incident brought him face to face with age old discrimination born of ignorance and racial hatred. This experience inspired him to write his freshman biography, π° πππ ππ π΅πππππππ’ πΆππππππ. This film mirrors the current narrative in our country surrounding unfair racial practices and bias found in the military and police force.
King has crafted his circumstance into a flawless motivational tool. His passion for encouraging others to discover their truth, live out loud, cherish the life that they've been given, and "get an A+ on life's report card..." is unbridled. King Jaquell Martin knows that there are many, many similar circumstances where the outcome was not as merciful - to say that this fuels his actions & artistry would be an understatement.
For the first time on @TheMiragePod, we truly have the opportunity to look beyond our special guest & see what...or who...has brought them to where they are today. We are joined by King's phenomenal mother, Shirley Ann Montgomery, an author, realtor, & advocate for spiritual, mental, and physical wellness. Her website, trustdestinyrealty.net, is titled fittingly...as it is clear that both Shirley Ann & King trust the purpose behind an otherwise horrific incident.
This interview will encourage you to act on every silver lining that you can find during dark times. We dedicate all of the positive thoughts, words, & intentions of this conversation to Lieutenant Caron Nazario.
