Description

Affectionately known as Lakeisha ‘Lucky’ Patterson, the 20-year-old has already represented her country at the Paralympics, Commonwealth Games, World Para Swimming Championships and the Pan Pacific Para Championships. After watching the 2012 London Para Olympics ‘lucky’ made the bold statement to her mum that in four years she would not only be at the 2016 Rio Olympics but would win gold! ‘Lucky’ went on to smash that goal by not only winning gold but also breaking the world record in both the 400m freestyle and the Women’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay. ‘Lucky’ and I spoke about growing up with a disability, her rise to becoming a world champion, struggles, triumphs and so much more! I truly hope you enjoy listening to her amazing story as much as I did.
