Tremendous agility, pace, panache, and aerial prowess combined to make Sydney Swans great Michael O’Laughlin one of the most exciting players to ever play the game! Michael proved his doubters wrong when he was drafted in 1995 to the Sydney Swans with pick 40 but as he mentions throughout our chat, Sydney wasn't where he really wanted to go. ‘Micky O’ would go on to have an incredible career with the Swans boasting an incredible resume. 303 AFL games, 521 AFL goals, two All Australian selections (1997 & 2000), 2005 premiership, 1998 Swans Best & Fairest and 2015 Australian Football Hall of Fame inductee just to name a few of his amazing accomplishments. O’Laughlin retired after the 2009 season as one of the most decorated and beloved players in the AFL. Michael and I spoke about his journey to the AFL, life, struggles, triumphs and so much more! I truly hope you enjoy hearing Michael’s story as much as I enjoyed talking with him.
