We're going to be looking into Malachi. We'll be next launching into this new sermon series in the book of Matthew, "The Kingdom."
So, it's important to take into context the old and new testament of the Bible. It's all one story. So you have 66 books written over thousands of years with one author. There's a beautiful unity to the scripture.
Today we focus on the prequel to Matthew, the book of Malachi. This is the final book in the Old Testament written around 400 BC. The Israelites started to return from exile to Jerusalem to the Holy Land about 100 years before this book. We really know nothing about the author. Malachi means messenger, so it's possibly a student now. So we have this anonymous profit giving the last word from God for 400 years. 400 Years!
