On the twelfth night of our #31DaysToHalloween the Mister joins me in reviewing 28 WEEKS LATER (2007), from director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, with a script by Rowan Joffe, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and Enrique López Lavigne. Six months after the initial outbreak, the US Army establishes a heavily-guarded safe zone in London for repatriated citizens, believing the Rage virus is dead. However, the virus is unwittingly re-introduced when two siblings sneak out to their old home and find their mother alive but an asymptomatic carrier. The resulting, rapid-fire second outbreak causes the military's strict containment protocol to fail violently, forcing the children and a few survivors to flee a city now being indiscriminately firebombed by NATO forces. The film clocks in at 1 h and 39 m, is rated R and we caught the film on Hulu but you can also catch it on AMC+ and to buy/rent on Prime Video. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
