In which the Mister joins me in reviewing HIS HOUSE (2020), currently available on Netflix. Written and directed by Remi Weekes, from a story by Felicity Evans and Tony Venables, the story follows a refugee couple who've made the agonizing journey to England, seeking asylum from their war torn country. From a stint in detention, they are transported to a house where Bol (Sope Dirisu) is eager to put the past behind him and assimilate in the ways of his new "home." But his wife, Rial (Wunmi Mosaku) is more tethered to the old country and ways which include traditional stories. Soon, their house exhibits a darkness and evil that is literally coming out of its walls. The lead actors are PHENOMENAL and the story is tight and moves quickly to its conclusion. The film has a run time of 1 h 33 m and rated TV-MA, with some jump scares and gore. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
