In which the Mister and I check out LA PÍCARA SOÑADORA (1956), an Argentinean production from director, Ernesto Arancibia; from a script by Abel Santa Cruz and which starred Mirtha Legrand, Alfredo Alcón, Amalia Sánchez Ariño and Ricardo Galache. The story revolves around Silvia (Legrand, who as of this date is still with us), a young woman who works in the toy section of the famed Gándaras department stores. In order to make ends meet, she convinces her Godfather to let her "live" in the department store at night while she studies to be a lawyer. During the night she studies but also lives a fantastical life as she dreams in beautiful frocks throughout every part of the store. One day she meets Freddy (Alcón), who, unbeknownst to her is the heir to the department store family owners He is completely smitten and captivated by her and soon concocts a plan to get to be in her orbit. The film clocks in at 1 h 18 m and is not rated on IMDB but we think it's definitely a G for all audiences to enjoy. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
