In which the Mister and Monsters join me in reviewing ROBOT DREAMS (2023), from writers Pablo Berger and Sara Varon, the film is directed by Pablo Berger. The film follows Dog, who while living in New York in the 80s, decides to purchase a Robot to offset some of the loneliness in their life. Once they connect, the two get to know each other and have adventures and a lovely friendship blossoms. On an excursion to the beach, Dog forgets to bring anything to protect Robot and soon Robot is rusted solid and immovable on the beach. After several failed attempts and with Robot's blessing, Dog leaves but vows to come back when the beach reopens. However in their time apart their paths change dramatically. The film clocks in at 1 h and 42 m and is not rated but there's nothing objectionable and we'd say it can appeal to anyone and okay to view by general audiences (PG). Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
