In which the Mister and Monsters join me in going all the way back to the 80s and reviewing SAY ANYTHING (1989), currently available on HBO MAX but also other platforms. Written and directed by Cameron Crowe, the film follows the budding romance between Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack) and Diane Court (Ione Skye) in the Summer after high school graduation and before Diane departs to college in England. Her father James (played by the late/great John Mahoney) isn't too keen on Lloyd and sees him as a "distraction". A family crisis rips Lloyd and Diane apart but will love save the day - you'll have to check it out. The film has a run time of 1 h 40 m and is rated PG-13.
