In which the Mister and Monsters join me in reviewing SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS (2023) which is available on Prime Video. From Bill Parker's Shazam! character, this film is directed by David F. Sandberg from a script by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan. In this sequel, we find out that Hespera (Helen Mirren) and Kalypso (Lucy Liu) have come to claim the Wizard's (Djimon Hounsou) broken staff. Meanwhile Billy/Shazam is trying to keep his siblings together even though they are all seeming to be drifting apart to pursue other things while also worrying about being aged out and kicked out of his foster home as his 18th birthday is close. The Wizard appears to Billy in a dream to warn him about the Daughters and he tries to get his siblings onboard but when their brother Freddy is taken, the other siblings get together to try and save the day. The film clocks in at 2 h 10 m and is rated PG-13. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
