In which the Mister and Monsters join me in reviewing THE PROPOSAL (2009). The film, directed by Anne Fletcher with screenplay credit to Peter Chiarelli, follows the story of Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock), a tough-as-nails editor at a NY publishing house who is facing deportation for an expired visa. With her options running out, she hatches a plan and recruits her assistant, Andrew (Ryan Reynolds) into entering into a sham engagement to keep her in the country in exchange for him getting a promotion. It just so happens that Andrew's Grandmother (the late, great Betty White) is celebrating her 90th birthday and they head out to a remote part of Alaska to join in the family festivities. In the next few days, hijinks ensue but also Margaret and Andrew suddenly find themselves really falling for each other. The film has a run time of 1 h 48 m, is rated PG-13 and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
