In which the Mister and Monsters join me in reviewing THEY CLONED TYRONE (2023) currently streaming on Netflix. Directed by Juel Taylor, from a script by Tony Rettenmaier and Juel Taylor, the film follows Fontaine (John Boyega), Yo-Yo (Teyonah Parris) and Slick Charles (Jamie Foxx), three inhabitants of the neighborhood called the Glen that are thrown together as they uncover a cloning conspiracy that directly impacts a majority of the Glen's residents. The script is solid, the performances are top tier and everyone is doing sensational work but all the flowers and praise must go to the three leads who are absolutely incandescent in their roles. The story is comedic with shades of sci-fi and mystery and is a MUST WATCH! Further proof of how essential writers are to the storytelling process, even more so the c-suite executives who collect accolades off the work the cast and crews are doing. The film clocks in at 2 h 2 m and is rated R. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
