In which the Mister and Monsters join me in reviewing WICKED LITTLE LETTERS (2023), from director Thea Sharrock with a screenplay by Jonny Sweet. Scandal and outrage tear the small English town of Littlehampton apart as extremely vulgar letters begin first appearing and targeting the Swan household, and in particular, Edith (Olivia Colman), and rowdy Rose (Jessie Buckley) is soon charged. But once the bawdy letter writer targets more of the local's mailboxes and suspecting there's more here than meets the eye, a gaggle of the town's women - Gladys (Anjana Vasan), Mabel (Eileen Atkins), Ann (Joanna Scanlan) and Kate (Lolly Adefope) - are soon on the case to solve this mystery. The film clocks in at 1 h and 40 m, is rated R and is currently streaming on Netflix. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
This episode of the podcast goes out to a very formidable woman, colleague and friend - HBD Christina D!
