Description

In our third episode, host Elly Hofmaier talks about the National Independent Venues Association and their effort to help the nationwide struggle that venues are facing due to the pandemic. The episode features Public Space One Director John Engelbrecht, sharing how PS1 has continued to create, program, and finish their new space during the pandemic, and sharing his Best Show Ever - an evening shared with a small crowd in the basement of the Wesley Center. We also spoke with singer-songwriter and arts worker, Lily DeTaeye, to talk about everything from the loss of live shows, her work with Des Moines Girls Rock, and what it's like to try to create music right now.

The episode features music by Alex Body, Gossip Cult, and a track from Allegra Hernandez. A special thanks to the sponsors of this episode: MidAmerica Securities Management Co., OPN Architects, and Theatre Cedar Rapids
